| Amy Zachmeier, a computer specialist for the Mandan School district and a former musher, taught students that when it is really cold a good way to stay warm is to zip up and do some push ups. The kids had fun trying to do this.

| Students from the Ft. Lincoln School in Mandan, ND study the checkpoints by using the interactive map on www.iditarod.com and the musher’s biographies. The students use this knowledge to help them choose a musher to track throughout the race. The students check their musher’s progress each day and move it along the trail on the map.

| The students from the Ft. Lincoln School 5th grade classes in Mandan, ND, paired up and made dogs, a sled and a musher in each classroom to get ready for the Iditarod Race.
