| Hardcorehuskies musher Heather Siirtola recently spoke with the 5th grade class at St. Mary`s School in Bismarck, ND by telephone from her kennel in Talkeetna, Alaska. The kids had lots of questions about the race and what it is like mushing across the Alaskan wilderness.

| Heatehr and the hardcore Team at the finish line in Nome. The checker checks for the gear and gets the "trail mail" and then declares Heathers time at 14 days 1 hour and 49 minutes, two days faster than 2007! Congratulations Heather!

| Congratulations to Heather from Corey Larson, here pictured with Heather during their days together at the First Steps daycare in Bismarck,ND. Heather was about 4 years old in this picture supplied by Corey`s mother, Debra Larson. Obviously Heathers "Hardcore" image began a bit later in life.
